These days, we hear about breakup sex so much that it seems like a sure thing whenever you and a partner decide to al it quits in your relationship. It almost seems like the moment you both say you’re done, it’s time for you to get into bed and have one last go before you never see each other again.

Well, pump your brakes, because it’s not true. I’ve broken up more than once before, and I’ve only ever had breakup sex twice. So, I have experience in seeing it happen and experience in seeing it not happen as well.

This is why it might end up not happening; when you’re going through a breakup, you feel a barrage of emotions headed your way. The tension and flow of emotions are usually why breakup sex happens. However, there are times when one of you realizes that it might not be the best thing to do, so instead of hopping into bed, you both call it quits and go your separate ways. I know I shouldn’t particularly advocate for having sex with someone you’re about to break a relationship with, but the truth is that breakup sex can be amazing. Take it from someone who has had it before.

At the end of the day, you’ll most likely find that you should have just ended the relationship and left. However, when you’re in the moment, it really could be beautiful. In fact, it could even make you hot. The fact that it’s wrong and dangerous just makes things all the more arousing for you.
